Directions:

Grease rectangular baking pan, 13 X 9 X 2 inches. Dissolve yeast in warm water in warm water in small mixer bowl. Add flour, parsley flakes, shortening, sugar, salt, garlic powder and egg. Beat on medium speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in onion and cheese. Pat dough evenly in pan with floured hands. Let rise in warm place until almost double, about 20 minutes. Heat oven to 450 degrees. Cut dough into 3 X 1-inch sticks; brush with margarine. Sprinkle with sesame seed; bake until edges are brown, 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 36 Breadsticks
* If using self-rising flour, omit salt.
