Walla Walla

- Storage Potential: Approximately 1 month

Walla Walla has been a customer favorite for years and the pride of Washington State. Unfortunately, our primary grower that produces this seed had a crop failure this year, but we have gathered a limited supply from several other growers in the Northwest. Each one develops their own Walla Walla strain and we cannot guarantee the same fantastic results as previous crops, but they are very similar and should yield good results. Very limited supply—order early before we sell out!
The total price of your onion plant order will be determined at checkout. Pricing is based on the total number of bunches purchased (see chart to the left).

The Walla Walla onion was used in this 1903 Farmhouse overlooking Seneca Lake in Lodi, New York. Renovated into a fine resturant called Suzanne Fine regional Cuisine. The Walla Walla onion was used in soups, salads and main dishes all grown by our Master Gardner Joe Caruana a Native Texan. Please visit our web-site at www.suzannefrc.com

I have a small farm and grow my crops without chemicals. I take my harvests to a local farmers market. Your Walla Walla onion is always asked for by my customers, I always sell all that I bring to the market, I do keep some back for the family. These are the sweetest and biggest onions that I grow. None better and always a big crop.

This Onion grew wonderfully in Central Pennsylvania last season. It is such a sweet, beautiful and quite large Onion. A neighbor grew Vidalia and the Walla Walla was much sweeter in our climate. Storage time is very short, but we turned the last of our crop into French Onion soup and froze it. So sweet, so good that not many made it that long anyhow.

These grew fabulously in my southeastern Massachusetts raised beds. Most were 4-5 inches and were great in salads or on burgers and were scrumptious when sauteed and carmelized. Neighbors and family were visiting quite often and wondering if we had an "extra" Wallas! Will be part of my onion crop every year.
